To the psychotherapist - What happens if I am unable to attend a session? Missed sessions, absence from therapy, breaks from treatment.
The psychotherapist answers
When you are delayed please still attend even for a shortened session. I will remain in the room for the entire session, this is your time to do with as you choose.
I will charge you for missed sessions because, in brief, this work gives me my living and I cannot offer your time to another client.
Breaks in therapy are discussed between the psychotherapist and patient, as are absences.
It is helpful for your psychotherapist to receive a message from you in the event of your being delayed or missing a session.
It is my belief that the more consistent your attendance the more you will benefit from the therapy.
I will support you in your facing the demands of others in your life, family, work friends and choosing to give priority to your need of this space and therapy.
