Welcome to Phoenix Counselling Service annual report 2008 for the annual general meeting. During the past year we have aimed to offer professional counselling / therapy to ordinary people across London, into Kent & Essex. During the year referrals were received from GP’s, companies, health professionals, solicitors, social workers, statutory and voluntary agencies, many self referred. In 2007 some 379 people (in 2006 it was 420) were offered and used our services in a variety of ways tailored to their specific requirements: one to one; as a couple; in small groups or as part of the package offered to corporate clients - 34 counsellors and therapists offered sessions on behalf of the service.
Thank You
A big thank you to all our staff, counsellors, therapists, associates, partnerships, trainees for making this possible along with all those who provided rooms, referrals the administration, supervision and general support without which the service wouldn’t run

Use of the DNA clinic in Dagenham continued to grow
Our Steering Group met on 4 occasions during the year
Our expansion as a service continued, our associates numbers increased and pleasingly we gained an associate who graduated through our placement training. We now have a counsellor / therapist local to all London and into Essex, still our direct service focuses on East London - Walthamstow, Ilford, Barking Dagenham, Romford
New work established this year included offering more brief counselling courses and more regular anger / stress management courses and we offered an expanded programme for counsellors and therapists contributing to Continuing Professional Development
Our feedback survey continued to show an overwhelming satisfaction rate with our services
